Laca Wong-Hammond is a managing director, head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) at Lument. She is in charge of business development and management of the firm’s sell-side, corporate finance, and strategic advisory services to owners and operators of senior care and seniors housing, as well as across the healthcare, multifamily, and commercial real estate spectrum.

Laca has closed more than $11 billion of M&A and capital market transactions throughout her career, including corporate exits, divestiture of assets, sale/leaseback, joint venture formation, and capital placement of debt and equity across property types. Laca is also expert in executing creative transactions, including tax-advantaged structures such as sale to an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). Her clients include founder-operator, private equity, not-for-profit, and publicly-traded companies. 

Prior to joining the company, she was a managing director in the corporate finance M&A practice at Duff & Phelps. She was also head of healthcare real estate at Raymond James and worked at Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan, and iStar REIT.

Laca was formerly the co-chair of BOMA International’s Medical Office and Healthcare Facilities Committee. Often featured in the media, she was named one of Connect CRE Women in Real Estate (2022), GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum’s Woman of Influence (2021), one of the Most Influential APIA New Yorkers (2013) by the NAAAP, and one of Real Estate Forum’s “Women of Influence” (2012). Laca is a member of Lument’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Committee. She was also a former trustee for Chen Dance Center, a 501(c)(3) performing arts education, theater, and dance company in New York.

Laca earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in communications from Cornell University and earned certifications at the London School of Economics and Harvard Law School. She holds the FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses and is a member of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO), and Women Business Leaders (WBL).
